Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies

Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies

If it’s not obvious, I really love chocolate and peanut butter. So I tried to find some unique brownie ideas online and really couldn’t find any that caught my eye, so I decided to combine a few recipes and add my own twist to make these Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies! They are super fudgy with chocolate morsels throughout, and that striking gold’ish color from the peanut butter (butter) mixture. You even get some texture with the peanuts. I’m telling you... try these and you won’t be disappointed!

What you need:

chocolate fudge brownies

  • 1 cup butter, melted

  • 1 cup granulated white sugar

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 4 large eggs

  • 2.5 tsp vanilla extract

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder like Hershey’s.

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips.

peanut butter swirl

  • 1.5 cup peanut butter

  • 1/2 stick of unsalted butter, melted

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1/2 cup plain peanuts

The Deets:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.

  • Grease and line a 9x13" baking pan with parchment paper with an overhang on the sides to easily lift the brownies out of the pan after baking.

  • In a large mixing bowl, hand whisk (not electric mixer) together butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Be careful to not over mix.

  • Sift in cocoa, flour and salt and stir just until combined. Be careful to not over mix.

  • Fold in chopped dark chocolate chips

  • In another large mixing bowl, using a whisk or spatula, stir together peanut butter, melted butter, and powdered sugar just until combined.

  • Fold in peanuts.

  • Dollop the chocolate brownie batter and peanut butter mixture randomly into the baking pan and run a butter knife through the batter to draw a swirl. Do not mix up too much or you’ll just mix in.

  • Bake for 25-28 minutes until the brownies don't jiggle anymore and are just set to touch. Toothpick should not come out clean, it should be covered in chocolate. Try your best to not over bake, or they will become cakey. The recommendation is to bake for 23 minutes for the first time and check every 1-2 minutes until the brownies are done.

  • Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes.

  • They will keep baking in the pan. Then carefully transfer with the paper to a wire rack and let cool completely.

  • Cut into 15 brownies (5x3) before serving. Store in an airtight container at room temperature up to 3 days.
